Overview
Resume Match Check is a free, anonymous resume and job-description matching tool. You do not create an account. Matching is rule-based and does not use AI or paid analysis APIs.
Resume processing and temporary storage
- You may upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT resume and paste one or more job descriptions.
- Uploaded resumes are stored briefly on a private server disk outside the public web root, under a randomized filename.
- Resume text is extracted and scored for the current request only. Results are returned in the browser response for that session.
- Temporary resume files are deleted after processing completes, including after successful analysis, parser failures, and analysis exceptions.
- A scheduled cleanup command removes abandoned temporary resume files that are older than one hour, in case a request is interrupted before normal cleanup.
- Resume contents and original filenames are not written to application logs.
- Resume contents are not stored in sessions or a product database.
Job descriptions
Job description text you paste is used only to generate the current match analysis. It is not saved to a product database. Job description content is not written to application logs.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses cookies and local browser storage needed to operate the service:
- Session cookie — supports CSRF protection and short-lived form status messages.
- Theme preference — stored in local browser storage so light/dark mode can persist on your device.
- Analytics consent preference — a first-party cookie stores only whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics (no resume or form content).
These operational cookies are not advertising cookies. If you accept optional analytics, Google may set its own analytics cookies according to Google’s policies. Advertising and personalization consent remain denied in this product’s Consent Mode defaults.
Analytics (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4)
Resume Match Check may use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage tags and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for optional usage analytics when a GTM container is configured in the server environment. GA4 is configured inside GTM. The application does not install a separate direct GA4 website snippet.
Optional analytics loads according to your consent choice. Until you accept analytics, analytics storage consent defaults to denied. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings in the site footer (and on results pages). Rejecting optional analytics does not block resume analysis or other public features.
When analytics consent is granted, the types of data that may be collected include:
- page URL/path and page title
- approximate device and browser information
- referral or traffic-source data
- interactions such as page views, scrolls, outbound clicks, and downloads (when enabled in GA4/GTM)
- privacy-safe custom events (for example that an analysis started or completed), using only controlled static or coarse values such as analysis mode
Resume Match Check does not intentionally send the following to GTM or GA4:
- resume text
- job-description text
- uploaded filenames
- names or email addresses
- Help & Feedback message contents or other form field values
- employer or company names extracted from your submissions
Google may process analytics data according to Google’s terms and privacy information. This section describes the application’s intended behavior; it is not a guarantee about Google’s independent processing.
reCAPTCHA
The Help & Feedback form may use Google reCAPTCHA when site and secret keys are configured. Google processes the CAPTCHA interaction under Google’s terms and privacy policy. reCAPTCHA keys come from server environment configuration and are not hardcoded in application source.
Help & Feedback email
If you submit Help & Feedback, the fields you provide (such as name, email, page/area, and message) are emailed to the configured recipient address. Your email may be used as the reply-to address when it is valid. Feedback is not stored in an application feedback database. Please do not include full resume content or unnecessary sensitive personal information in feedback messages.
Third-party processors
Depending on configuration, processing may involve:
- The web host and mail transport used to run the site and deliver feedback email.
- Google, when GTM/GA4 and/or reCAPTCHA are enabled.
Security measures
The application applies upload validation, private temporary storage, rate limiting on analysis and feedback submissions, CSRF protection on forms, and browser security headers. No security measure is perfect; please avoid uploading documents you are not comfortable processing temporarily on the server.
Your choices
- Do not upload a resume if you do not want temporary server-side processing.
- Use Cookie Settings to accept or reject optional analytics, or clear cookies and local storage with browser controls.
- Contact us via Help & Feedback for privacy questions about this site.
